Mentor

The Mentor For Kayla is her best friend Mfumbe. They have been together since high school and can really understand each other. He hid in the mountain with her and they went to the protest together. He makes her feel safe and can always cheer her up. Mfumbe is her mentor because without him, she would have never had the strength to begin her journey to defeat the bar code.
I predict that by the end of the book Kayla and Mfumbe will become more than just friends.

Call to Adventure

Because Kayla refuses to get the bar code tattoo, she is forced into hiding in the mountains. Hiding becomes her ordinary world but when she hears about a huge protest of the bar code tattoo outside the white house, she must make a decision. she and her friend decide that it is time for them to come out of hiding and make a difference. I think that she made this choice because she knows that the bar codes won't go away on their own and that the world needs people to make it right.

I predict that Kayla will help lead the rebellion and end up defeating Global 1 (The company that created the bar codes).
